- The latest crisis at Gor Mahia seems to make Dickson Ambudo think twice about his career. He admits he has several options having received offers from some clubs.
This has been a difficult year for Gor Mahia based on how their championship was declared and the testing financial situation. Ambudo was on a one-year contract which will end in July this year.
The 24-year-old left-winger is known for his calculated moves to get past defenders. As a winger, he has scored six goals for the renowned Kenyan Premier League champions. He expressed his gratitude when the club was declared champions once again this year.
“I am happy for my time at Gor Mahia because I have been playing regularly. I feel part of the squad which has won titles in the past three seasons and also represented Kenya in continental competitions,” said Ambudo.
The Mwanza-born Tanzanian is one of the most sought players in East Africa. Rumors have it that the left-winger has long been targeted by the Tanzanian’s Simba SC. However, he has not made his next destination public.
“For now I am not sure if I will continue playing for Gor after the expiry of my contract in July. I have received offers from various clubs which I will not reveal for now, if the talks end well then I will communicate. For now, I am still a Gor Mahia player,” said Ambudo.
Ambudo’s agent, Babu Ally, insists that the winger is yet to decide his future said they will announce a decision on the issue once it is finalized.
“Yes, his contract is nearing an end and we are working on modalities required to see if he will stay or leave. We are looking at both sides to come up with a decision that favors the player,” Ally explained.
Indeed, there is uncertainty over how long Ambudo will stick around. His Gor Mahia fans value his significantly and they hope he makes the best decision.
