Preview and Prediction
Nerazzuri’s season is still on going. This time they will be focusing on the Europa League after securing runner up position on the table. Winning this second tier European competition will be quite an achievement as they have never won any continental title since 2010 when Jose Mourinho led them win the Champions League. In Europa league, the last time they won it was in 1998 when the current director of football, Javier Zanetti was still actively playing. This midweek will be the first step to such target as they will be meeting Getafe, the dark horse in La liga which lost their positive trend after the lockdown.
The teams’ previous matches
Inter finally finished on the second this season after thumping Atalanta 2-0. Ashley Young was the man of the match with his contribution on scoring and defending. He provided an assist for the first goal by Danilo D’Ambrosio and scored one for himself to double the lead. He also blocked Robin Gosens’s tap at the mouth of the goal to avoid conceding.
Getafe, on the other hand, had another defeat in their last game of La Liga. They sank and lost 0-1 while taking on Levante through Coke’s goal. Jaime Mata and Co were unfortunate to score previously as their three goals were disallowed and their penalty just hit the post. As a result, they failed to seal one spot in Europa league next season as they were only on the 8th of the table.
Possible tactic
Antonio Conte tends to stick to 3-5-2 with the transition to 3-4-1-2. The Danish international Christian Eriksen or Borja Valero will be the playmaker behind the dynamic duo, Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez or Alexis Sanchez. However, Stefano Sensi and Mathias Vecino are still ruled out due to their injuries.
Meanwhile, Pepe Bordalas has always been in favour of 4-4-2 formation. Jaime Mata and Angel Rodriguez are the main frontmen while Marc Cucurella, who is currently negotiating his move to Chelsea, and Jason are supporting from both flanks.
Players to watch
After the restart, Manchester United loanees, Alexis Sanchez and Ashley Young seem to have been the key figures lately compared to Lautaro Martinez or the former Tottenham man, Christian Eriksen. Another notable name to watch is the wing back Danilo D’Ambrosio who scored two goals in the last two games.
In Getafe, the forward Jaime Mata is the one expected to perform better. He has scored 11 goals with three assists this season. Some other key men to watch are the top assist provider, Marc Cucurella and the wing back Damian Suarez.
Inter vs Getafe Prediction
Getafe’s poor form after the competition resumed has been worrying. They have only managed to win once in the last eleven games. This could be an opportunity for La Beniamata, whose form has been better, to win comfortably and progress to the quarter final easily.

Romelu Lukaku and Co are the clear favourite. Their win market is at 1.75, whereas Getafe is only priced to win at 4.75. The odds for the draw result are at the value of 3.85.
