Preview and Prediction
The December fixtures do not seem to look good for Mourinho’s men. They already lost four potential points in the past two games in Premier League from the maximum nine points. Such is certainly not enough if they do want to end their thirst of glory with a silverware on hand next summer. Harry Kane and Co can not let themselves slip again in the next game while playing host to Leicester which sits on the fourth with only one point difference from them.
The teams’ previous matches
Tottenham was involved in a tight decisive game in Anfield. Unfortunately, they could not snatch a single point after being thumped 1-2. Mo Salah scored an opener for the Reds but Son Heung-min equalised not long after. They eventually conceded again without optimised effort during the game to push for snatching one point by Roberto Firmino’s later header. Spurs have to go down to the second of the table.
The Foxes, on the other hand, had to suffer another defeat at home. Jamie Vardy and Co were dismantled 0-2 by Everton. Richarlison and Mason Holgate brought the nightmare in King Power Stadium with their goal. It was their fifth defeat of the season already.
Jose Mourinho might be opting for 4-3-2-1 or 4-2-2-2 considering the Foxes’ possible defensive stance. The skipper Kane and Son Heung-min shall be featuring as the duo frontman supported by Tanguy Ndombele and Giovanni Lo Celso behind them. In the midfield, Moussa Sissoko and Pierre Hobjberg shall play more defensively.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers is likely to employ 3-4-2-1 Unfortunately, Caglar Soyuncu, Ricardo Pereira and Timothy Castagne still miss out this fixture. James Justin and Marc Albrighton will be the one to take over the wing back posts.
Players to watch
The dynamic duo Kane and Son are expected to strike again with their goals. Some other notable names to watch are the Argentine Giovani Lo Celso and the former Southampton man, Pierre Hojbjerg.
Leicester’s main scorer Jamie Vardy is still the key man upfront. He has scored twelve goals and provided four assists so far. Some other important figures in their squad are James Maddison, Harvet Barnes and Youri Tielemans who have netted three goals each.
Tottenham vs Leicester Prediction
Spur’s tactical approach relying too much on Kane and Son would be a blunder as it will be easily anticipated. Thus, if they have break the deadlock and both of them have been closed down, the creative player such as Erik Lamela plus a swift winger Steven Bergwijn could be brought on from the bench. They also have to be careful with the Foxes’ creative midfielder, James Maddison and Youri Tielemans. Overall, the home side still has the advantage to secure three points here.
The game seems to be expected to be quite even. Brendan Rodgers’ men are projected to win is at 14/5, whereas the draw result is at 13/5. Spurs are backed to win at 13/11.
