Preview and Prediction
The Red Devils’ hope to return to the title race is still very much alive. They are currently sitting on the second with a game less than their classic contender, Liverpool plus only a few points away from the reigning Champions. Marcus Rashford and Co will be putting more pressure to The Reds if they could secure another win at home against one of the EPL dark horses, Aston Villa, which are sitting on the fifth in the standings.
Both teams’ previous matches
Manchester United finally secure another win in the midweek. They thumped Wolverhampton 1-0. a single goal of Marcus Rahsford taking advantage of none but Bruno Fernandes’s assist would be enough to continue their positive unbeaten run in the last six games.
The Villans had a even more convincing result while taking on Chelsea on the road. They managed to pull back by The Dutch forward Anwar El-Ghazi after conceding by Olivier Giroud’s opener. Their unbeaten run is still undisruptedas it streches to five matches so far.
Ole Solksjaer is now confident with 4-2-3-1 formation with Bruno Fernandes as the vital figure to lead their attack and open spaces in their opponent’s defence line. His starting IX is relatively complete with no major injuries from the key men. Only Viktor Lindelof are injured and can be easily covered by others.
Dean Smith seems to be in favour of the similar formation with the transition to 4-3-3. Jack Grealish is the playmaker or the anchor in the attacking build up. On both flanks, the former Lyon man Bertrand Traore and Anwar El Ghazi will be the winger to provide through ball or crossings for their targetman, Ollie Watkins.
Players to watch
Solksjaer’s men still rely on Marcus Rashford as the main winger and scorer apart from Bruno Fernandes, by registering seven goals anf four assists already. Another notable name to watch is the Scottish versatile, Scott McTominay.
Meanwhile, the return of Anwar El Ghazi from his injury is certainly a bad news to their opponent. He has bagged five goals so far, four of which waa scored in the last three games. Some other key figures to focus on are surely the skipper Jack Grealish, Ollie Watkins and the Argentine goalie, Emiliano Martinez.
Manchester United vs Aston Villa Prediction
It is a tough encounter for both sides. Despite having the home advantage, Bruno Fernandes and Co should be careful with Dean Smith’s men’s confidence which is flying high at the moment. It is supposedly an even game so it would not be suprising if both teams share spoils at the end.
According to the punters, the home side remains the clear favorite. They are backed to win at 7/9 whereas Jack Grealish and Co are in the win market at 18/5. The odds for the draw result are at the value of 38/11.
