Juventus officially fails to retain the title and domination this season. With only four games left, they only have one mission left, sealing the Champions League spot. Such is also AC Milan’s left objective. They had been leading the table most of the season but their form then faded away. No wonder that this mouth watering match can potentially become intense with their identical target and points as both have collected 69 points too.
The teams’ previous matches
La Vecchia Signora had a positive result while travelling to Udine last weekend. They made a comeback after one goal behind as Nehuel Molina bagged an opener for Udinese. It was none but Cristiano Ronaldo who scored a brace and overturned the score sheet.
Rossonerri was back on their winning ways last weekend while hosting Benevento. Hakan Calhanoglu gave an early lead but they had to wait till the second half to extend their lead through Theo Hernandez who took advantage of the deflected ball from Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s strike.
Possible tactic
Andrea Pirlo needs to keep their positive form for the remaining four games, especially in this fixture, in which losing points is not an option. His 4-4-2 formation still works with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala or Dejan Kulusevski are featuring upfront. The only name ruled out for this match is Merih Demiral.
Stefano Pioli might have to consider deploying 4-3-2-1 here to build the stronger walls to around the backline plus switching to the attacking mode quickly whenever they have a chance. Ibrahimovic still leads the attack while Hakan Calhanoglu and Rafael Leao supporting behind the Swede, while in the midfield, Theo Hernandez can be pushed forward to accompany Frank Kessie and Ismael Bennacer. The left back post can be given to Rade Krunic who is less offensive in the build-up.
Players to watch
The megastar Cristiano Ronaldo is still the main scorer with twenty seven goals and three assists. Some other vital figures in Juventus this season are Federico Chiesa who has netted seven goals and provided seven assists, Alvaro Morata with nine goals and assists each and the top assist provider, Juan Cuadrado.
In Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be expected to go neck-to-neck with the Portuguese superstar here. In his late 30s, he could still contribute 15 goals and 2 assists. Not to mention his role in motivating his younger teammate. Some other notable names to watch are Theo Hernandez, Hakan Calhanoglu and Frank Kessie.
Juventus vs Milan Prediction
It will be a tough call for Rossonerri to snatch three points, and so will Pirlo’s men, which seems to stumble with inconsistency this season. Unless CR7 is in his peak form just like in the last outing, both sides will be sharing spoils in Turin.
Betting odds
The neither side is the favourite here. Ibrahimovic and Co’s odds to win are at 19/5, whereas the home side is priced to win at 11/14. The odds for the draw result are at the value of 3/1.
