Inter Milan is looking for more points ahead to secure the throne. With only Serie A left to fight for, Antonio Conte will strive not to lose any more points until the title is secured. Their success is now depending on their own hand, not others just like in the previous season. This weekend, they will be taking on Atalanta which has been in-form lately and managed to topple Juventus in the standings.
Both teams’ previous games
Inter kept on winning last weekend when facing off Genoa. They crushed Goran Pandev and Co 3-0. Romelu Lukaku, Matteo Darmian and Alexis Sanchez scored the winning goals. The victory keeps their three points margins with AC Milan.
La Dea also secured an easy win over Crotone last weekend as they hammered the vistors 5-1. Robin Gosens, Jose Palomino, Luis Muriel, Josip Illicic and Alexey Miranchuk bagged the winning goals while Crotone only replied once by Simy.
Possible tactics
Antonio Conte has always been consistent with his 3-5-2. Duo frontman Lukaku and Martinez are the best one upfront. In the midfield, Nico Barella and Marcelo Brozovic will be accompanied by Achraf Hakimi and Matteo Darmian out wide plus Arturo Vidal or Christian Eriksen in the middle. The only figure in their injury table is Stefano Sensi.
Meanwhile, Gian Gasperini is more in favour of 3-4-2-1 this season. The departure of Papu Gomez enables the former Inter boss to explore more option on the front. The injury of Duvan Zapata, Sam Lammers and Hans Hateboer would not worry him much. He can still play Luis Muriel supported by Ruslan Malinovsky and Josip Illicic or their new signing, Viktor Kovalenko or the Russian international Alexey Miranchuk.
Players to watch
In Conte’s squad, apart from the great Romelu Lukaku and his duet Lautaro Martinez, there are some notable names in the squad such as Nico Barella who has registered three goals and five assists, the wing back Achraf Hakimi with six goals and four assists in Serie A and the Croatian international Marcelo Brozovic with one goal and six assists.
The Colombian Luis Muriel is still the number one in scoring. He has notched up 15 goals and six assists in Serie A. Another key man to watch this season is the Slovenian international Josip Illicic with five goals and six assists in domestic league.
Inter vs Atalanta Prediction
Romelu Lukaku and Co will not slow down their pace in this season race. A win against Atalanta is a must to keep them safer on the top. Nevertheless, Atalanta is one of the team with a solid defence line. Conte’s men will come out as a winner eventually.
Betting Odds
It is one intriguing encounter. Nerrazurri is backed to win at 17/16. The odds for the draw results are at 27/10, whereas Gasperini’s men’s win market is at 14/5.
