Another London derby is on schedule for Fulham. After an away fixture against Crystal Palace last weekend, they will be playing host to Tottenham. Scott Parker’s men have been unbeaten in the past four games and looking for stretching the positive results against his former coach in Chelsea, Jose Mourinho, who is currently under pressure from the management to deliver more convincing results.
The teams’ previous games
Fulham was held in a goalless draw while taking on Crystal Palace last weekend. They were unlucky to miss some of the opportunities to score. Such result left them stranded on the 18th in the standings.
Spurs managed to continue winning after the good result in Europa League. They dismantled Burnley 4-0 at their home turf. Gareth Bale was the key man of the match by netting a brace plus providing an assist for Harry Kane’s goal. Another one was scored by Lucas Moura.
Scott Parker seems to be opting for 4-2-3-1 with the Bordeaux loanee, Josh Maja featuring as the targetman, supported by Ademola Lookman, Chelsea loanee Robin Loftus-Creek and Ivan Cavaliero. In the midfield, Frank Zambo Anguissa and Harrison Reed will occupy the defensive midfielder role. The only names on the injury table are Tom Cairney and the second goalie, Marek Rodak.
His counterpart, Jose Mourinho also deploys the same formation. The quartet Harry Kane, Son-Heung Min, Lucas Moura and the Welsh wizard, Gareth Bale will be Spurs’ attacking line. In the midfield, Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks will be supporting them in the build up.
Players to watch
Fulham’s top performers this season the Cameroon international Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa who has provided three assist, the former Everton and RB Leipzig man, Ademola Lookman registering four goals and three assists and the left back Antonee Robinson. Another notable name to watch is the PSG loanee, Alphonse Areola.
Gareth Bale has returned to the starting IX. He has scored six goals and made three assists since moving on loan to his old club. Bale will be the integral part of Spurs forwards alongside Harry Kane and Son-Heung Min.
Fulham vs Tottenham Prediction
This clash is meant to be the decisive one for both sides. Fulham needs a victory in a relegation battle, while Tottenham is expected to pick up maximum points here to improve their position and campaign, plus saving Jose Mourinho’s future in North London. If the Portuguese boss could optimise the potential of Bale combined with Kane-Son, Spurs will be deadly upfront and three points will be fairly easy to snatch.
The match might be even. Yet, the home side seems to be the slight favourite. Robin Loftus-Creek and Co’ odds to win are at 3/1, whereas Mourinho’s men are backed to win at 21/20. The odds for the draw result are at the value of 11/4.
